Clayton Plastic Surgery Specialists
was created in 1963 when Dr. John L. Clayton (retired) became one of
only six plastic surgeons to practice in Utah. The office was
originally located on Highland Drive until 1981
when it moved to its current location in the Cottonwood Hospital
Office Towers.
As the practice grew, so did his
three sons - John N., David, and Paul - all whom attended the
University of Utah School of Medicine at the same time. John
N. and David graduated the same year, 1976, and left for Southfield,
Michigan, to begin their general surgery residency training.
Youngest son, Paul, graduated from the U of U School of Medicine in
1977 and joined his brothers in Michigan to begin his anesthesia
residency.
John N. and David went on to
complete plastic surgery fellowships while in Michigan. Upon
completion in 1981, John N. and David moved home to Utah to join
their father's practice.
